Lower-level Requirements

Students must take 9 credits GEOG_V 121, 211, GEOB_V/GEOS_V1 270; and 6 credits GEOB_V/GEOS_V1 102*, 103*; and 3 credits from GEOB_V/GEOS_V1 200, 204, 206, 207, GEOG_V 122, 220, 250.

*Students may obtain credit for only one of GEOS_V 102, GEOB_V 102 or EOSC_V 112, and only one of GEOS_V 103, GEOB_V 103 or EOSC_V 110. See the Science Credit Exclusion List.

Upper-level Requirements

30 credits from courses numbered 300 and higher, as follows:

Environmental Concentration

  • 6 credits GEOG_V 313, 314
  • 6 credits from GEOG_V 310, 311, 312, 316, 318, 351
  • 3 credits from GEOB_V/GEOS_V1 300, 303, 304, 305, 306, 307, 308
  • 3 credits from GEOB_V/GEOS_V1 400, 401, 402, 407; GEOG_V 410, 412, 419, 423

Research and Methods

  • 3 credits GEOG_V 374
  • 9 credits from GEOG_V 315 (or 379b), 319, 345, 371, 395, 410, 412, 419, 423, 429, 446, 447, 448; GEOB_V/GEOS_V1 309, 370, 372, 373, 400, 401, 402, 403, 405, 406, 407, 472, 479

Although some courses pertain to more than one requirement, no course can be counted twice (credits applied to more than one requirement) within the Major.

Geographic Information Science

Students wishing to specialize in Geographic Information Science should take the GEOB_V/GEOS_V 270, 370, 479; 372, 472; 373 suite of courses.

Minor in Environment and Sustainability

Lower-level Requirements

Students must take 6 credits of GEOG_V 121, 211 and 3 credits from GEOB_V/GEOS_V1 102 or 103.

Upper-level Requirements

21 credits of geography (GEOG_V/GEOB_V/GEOS_V1) courses numbered 300 and higher, as follows:
