The Certificate in Early Years Education (EYED) focuses broadly on developing Early Childhood Education (ECE) curricula and the principles of teaching and learning in the early years (preschool to Grade 3).
Admission Requirements
1. A Bachelor’s degree in Education, or related field, such as Nursing, Early Childhood Education, Psychology.
OR
2. Post-secondary education (e.g., College Education) in fields such as Early Childhood Education, Educational Assistant, or Behavioral Consultant.
OR
3. A minimum of 2 years of experience working in the field with young children.
Certificate Requirements
Students must complete a total of 15 credits, consisting of:

Application to Receive Certificate
Upon completion of all required courses, students must apply to receive their certificate through Workday. However, Certificate students are not part of the UBC graduation ceremonies.
