The Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Sciences (B.P.Sc.) degree begins with the study of the foundations of science followed by a curriculum that specializes in the Pharmaceutical Sciences.
Additionally, the program provides degree options for degree completion. To earn a B.P.Sc., students must follow one of the following three degree options:
- Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Sciences - This option is also known as the “Course-based” option. Students fulfill program requirements through the successful completion of Year One to Year Four courses, as listed in Degree Requirements.
- B.P.Sc. Experiential Option – In addition to the successful completion of the prescribed courses, eligible students must also successfully complete one of PHAR_V 485 Research Project or PHAR_V 495 Practicum. The experiential option allows students to gain practical skills in either a professional academic or industry setting.
- B.P.Sc. Experiential Option with Honours – In addition to the successful completion of the prescribed courses, eligible students must also successfully complete PHAR_V 485 Research Project, as well as an Honours Thesis (PHAR_V 491). To be eligible for the Honours degree option, students must maintain a cumulative average of a minimum of 80% across all years. Note that this GPA requirement does not guarantee acceptance into the B.P.Sc. Honours degree option. The Honours option is not available for the B.P.Sc. Experiential Option – Practicum or B.P.Sc. (Course-based) degree options.
This page provides an overview of the B.P.Sc. degree options. For details on the specific degree requirements for each of the degree options listed above, see Degree Requirements.
