Degree Requirements

Students must complete a minimum of 30 credits including the following:

Coursework

A minimum of 18 credits including

  • LARC_V 523 (3) Landscape Architecture Theory
  • LARC_V 541 (3) Landscape Planning and Management
  • Approved 500-level or above research methods course (3)
  • 9 credits of approved elective coursework including directed study and/or research-oriented cooperative education in consultation with the supervisor. A maximum of 3 credits of coursework may be taken at the 300 or 400 level

Thesis

  • LARC_V 599 (12) Research Thesis

Research activities and thesis development will be focused within one of two broad areas:

  • advanced design, design theory, and design education, or
  • environmental design, planning and management
