For clarification of their ability to obtain a license to practice dentistry or dental hygiene in British Columbia, persons convicted of a criminal offense, including a conviction for an offense which resulted in a conditional or absolute discharge, who are considering a career in dentistry, should write to the Registrar of the respective College before beginning their studies. Most provinces will accept for registration the certificate issued by the National Dental or Dental Hygiene Examining Board of Canada, for which there is a fee.
