Students must complete a minimum of 30 credits including the following

A course in research methods is to be undertaken in the first term of study. By the end of the course, students are expected to have developed a preliminary proposal for their thesis - 15 credits of approved coursework, including directed study and/or research-focused cooperative education. A maximum of 6 credits of coursework may be taken at the undergraduate 300 and 400 level. In some cases pre-requisite courses will be required beyond the 15 credits.
Following the completion of all coursework, ideally at the end of the second term of study, the student will be required to present the thesis proposal for critical discussion by faculty and students.
Thesis
ARCH_V 598(12) Research Thesis
An independent research-based investigation that may take the form of a written, digital or design thesis, depending on the area of study. An oral defense of the thesis will be required.
Time Limit for Completion of Degree Requirements
University regulations establish a five-year time limit for the completion of a master's program.
