The program leading to the Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Sciences credential is designed to prepare graduates for a diverse range of careers in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries and for further studies in pharmaceutical sciences graduate programs.
By the end of their four-year undergraduate degree, students will:
- Integrate and apply knowledge from pharmacology, medicinal chemistry, pathology and health outcomes to discover, design and develop drugs and drug products.
- Design experiments, analyze data, and solve complex problems in drug research and development.
- Critically appraise literature on processes that support the drug discovery and development pipeline including preclinical, clinical, and post-commercialization phases.
- Demonstrate the ability to work safely and effectively both independently and collaboratively in diverse settings including the classroom, laboratory, and research and industry placements.
- Communicate effectively to professional, academic, and lay audiences through presentations, discussions, and scientific writings.
- Demonstrate professional and ethical behaviour in academic, industrial, and regulatory environments.
