    Mechanisms of regulation of acid-base balance, fluid and electrolyte content, excretion of proteins and organic substances in kidney disease; abnormal renal mechanisms in hypertension. This course is not eligible for Credit/D/Fail grading.

  6. MEDI_V 520 (3) Advanced Topics in Visual Sciences

    Fundamental principles of vision from basic physiology to clinical syndromes across the visual pathway spanning the globe, ocular structures including the retina, up to striate and extrastriate cortices. This course is not eligible for Credit/D/Fail grading.

  14. MEDI_V 580 (3-6) Experimental Medicine: Infectious Diseases

    Supervised individual program of directed studies in experimental aspects of pathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases, and mechanisms of host defence against microbial infections.   15. MEDI_V 590 (3) Molecular Regulation of Cell Growth and Differentiation

    Receptors, kinases, phosphatases, G proteins, adapters, transcription factors and other regulatory proteins involved in eukaryotic cell activation, growth and differentiation; defective cell signalling in human diseases; methods to track actions of toxins and drugs in experimental model systems. Prerequisite: A third-year or higher Biochemistry course. This course is not eligible for Credit/D/Fail grading.
