FSCT_V: Biochemistry and Forensic Science

The following UBC Senate approved courses are restricted to students enrolled in the Joint Degree Combined Honours Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Forensic Science. They are taught at the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) campus and show on the BCIT transcript under the BCIT course numbers.

    Credit limited to students in the Joint Degree Program in Biochemistry and Forensic Science. Same as BCIT FSCT 7320.

    Credit limited to students in the Joint Degree Program in Biochemistry and Forensic Science. Same as BCIT LIBS 7002.

  3. FSCT_V 203 (3) Report Writing and Communication for Forensic Investigation

    Credit limited to students in the Joint Degree Program in Biochemistry and Forensic Science. Same as BCIT COMM 7200.

  4. FSCT_V 280 (0) Introductory Forensic Science I

    Block registration for the introduction to forensic science course taken in the Joint BCIT/UBC Degree in Biochemistry and Forensic Science. Registration is limited to students in the Joint Degree Program.

  5. FSCT_V 290 (0) Introductory Forensic Science II

    Block registration for the applied ethics and report writing and communication for forensic investigation courses taken in the Joint BCIT/UBC Degree in Biochemistry and Forensic Science. Registration is limited to students in the Joint Degree Program.

  6. FSCT_V 301 (3) Forensic Biology; DNA Typing Theory

    Credit limited to students in the Joint Degree Program in Biochemistry and Forensic Science. Same as BCIT FSCT 8150.

  7. FSCT_V 302 (3) Quality Assurance for Forensic Science

    Credit limited to students in the Joint Degree Program in Biochemistry and Forensic Science. Same as BCIT FSCT 8370.

  8. FSCT_V 303 (3) Business Management for Forensic Science

    Credit limited to students in the Joint Degree Program in Biochemistry and Forensic Science. Same as BCIT FSCT 8371.

  9. FSCT_V 310 (3) Research Methodology and Measurement Models

    Credit limited to students in the Joint Degree Program in Biochemistry and Forensic Science. Same as BCIT FSCT 7910.

  10. FSCT_V 311 (3) Forensic Biology: Evidence Recovery

    Credit limited to students in the Joint Degree Program in Biochemistry and Forensic Science. Same as BCIT FSCT 8155.

  11. FSCT_V 312 (3) Medico-Legal Aspects of Alcohol

    Credit limited to students in the Joint Degree Program in Biochemistry and Forensic Science. Same as BCIT FSCT 8230.

  12. FSCT_V 314 (3) The Science of Fingerprints - Theory

    Credit limited to students in the Joint Degree Program in Biochemistry and Forensic Science. Same as BCIT FSCT 8320.

  13. FSCT_V 315 (3) Forensic Toxicology

    Credit limited to students in the Joint Degree Program in Biochemistry and Forensic Science. Same as BCIT FSCT 8240.

  14. FSCT_V 380 (0) Intermediate Forensic Science I

    Block registration for the forensic biology: DNA typing theory, quality assurance, and business management for forensic science courses taken in the Joint BCIT/UBC Degree in Biochemistry and Forensic Science. Registration is limited to students in the Joint Degree Program.

  15. FSCT_V 390 (0) Intermediate Forensic Science II

    Block registration for the forensic biology: evidence recovery, research methodology, and elective courses taken in the Joint BCIT/UBC Degree in Biochemistry and Forensic Science. Registration is limited to students in the Joint Degree Program.

  16. FSCT_V 398 (3) Co-op Work Placement I

    Approved and supervised technical work experience in either an industrial, public, or academic laboratory or a law enforcement agency for a minimum of 14 weeks. Technical report required. Restricted to students admitted to the Co-op Program in Biochemistry and Forensic Science. Prerequisite: Completion of academic third year in Biochemistry and Forensic Science Honours program is required. This course is not eligible for Credit/D/Fail grading.

  17. FSCT_V 399 (3) Co-op Work Placement II

    Approved and supervised technical work experience in either an industrial, public, or academic laboratory or a law enforcement agency for a minimum of 14 weeks. Technical report required. Restricted to students admitted to the Co-op Program in Biochemistry and Forensic Science. Prerequisite: FSCT 398. This course is not eligible for Credit/D/Fail grading.

  18. FSCT_V 401 (3) Forensic Biology: DNA Typing Applications

    Credit limited to students in the Joint Degree Program in Biochemistry and Forensic Science. Same as BCIT FSCT 8160.

  19. FSCT_V 409 (3) Law for Forensic Science

    Credit limited to students in the Joint Degree Program in Biochemistry and Forensic Science. Same as BCIT FSCT 7009.

  20. FSCT_V 410 (2) The Expert Witness - Prepared for Court

    Block registration for the forensic biology: DNA typing applications, law and forensic science courses taken in the Joint BCIT/UBC Degree in Biochemistry and Forensic Science. Registration is limited to students in the Joint Degree Program.

  23. FSCT_V 490 (0) Advanced Forensic Science II

    Block registration for the expert witness testimony instrumental analysis for forensic chemistry and forensic toxicology courses taken in the Joint BCIT/UBC Degree in Biochemistry and Forensic Science. Registration is limited to students in the Joint Degree Program.

  24. FSCT_V 498 (3) Co-op Work Placement III

    Approved and supervised technical work experience in either an industrial, public, or academic laboratory or a law enforcement agency for a minimum of 14 weeks. Technical report required. Restricted to students admitted to the Co-op Program in Biochemistry and Forensic Science. Prerequisite: FSCT 399. This course is not eligible for Credit/D/Fail grading.

  25. FSCT_V 499 (3) Co-op Work Placement IV

    Approved and supervised technical work experience in either an industrial, public, or academic laboratory or a law enforcement agency for a minimum of 14 weeks. Technical report required. Restricted to students admitted to the Co-op Program in Biochemistry and Forensic Science. Prerequisite: FSCT 498. This course is not eligible for Credit/D/Fail grading.
