ARBC_V: Classical Arabic

  1. ARBC_V 101 (3) Beginning Classical and Quranic Arabic I

    Classical Arabic, with an introduction to vocabulary and grammar and the reading of simple Qur'anic texts and wisdom sayings in the original.

  2. ARBC_V 205 (3) Beginning Classical and Quranic Arabic II

    Classical Arabic, with further introduction to vocabulary and grammar and the reading of Qur'anic texts in the original. Credit will be granted for only one of ARBC_V 102 or ARBC_V 205. Prerequisite: ARBC_V 101. Equivalency: ARBC_V 102.

  3. ARBC_V 301 (3) Intermediate Classical and Quranic Arabic I

    Classical Arabic. Designed to enrich vocabulary and grammar and to enhance fluency in reading and interpreting a range of Qur'anic texts. Credit will be granted for only one of ARBC_V 201 or ARBC_V 301. Prerequisite: One of ARBC_V 205, ARBC_V 102. Equivalency: ARBC_V 201.

  4. ARBC_V 302 (3) Intermediate Classical and Quranic Arabic II

    Classical Arabic. Designed to further enrich vocabulary and grammar and to enhance fluency in reading and interpreting longer texts from Qur'an, Hadith and other genres. Credit will be granted for only one of ARBC_V 202 or ARBC_V 302. Prerequisite: One of ARBC_V 201, ARBC_V 301. Equivalency: ARBC_V 202.

  5. ARBC_V 420 (3-12) Supervised Study in Classical and Quranic Arabic

    Readings in religious and literary Arabic texts pertaining to the early and classical Islamic world. Prerequisite: One of ARBC 202, ARBC 302. This course is not eligible for Credit/D/Fail grading.
