    Language Proficiency Index (LPI): Deadline for the completion of the LPI test by BC students (including students who are non-BC residents studying at BC educational institutions) intending to take a first-year English course beginning in September 2012.

    Language Proficiency Index (LPI): Out-of-province students may be granted permission by the First-Year English Office to write on Saturday September 1, 2012 if they miss the LPI sitting in their province. To seek permission, write to the First-Year English Office by July 21, 2012.

    Students who are planning to apply for the Winter Session General Bursary should apply for government student loans for the Winter Session by this date. It is recommended that students apply for loans as early as possible in order to have funding in place for the beginning of the Winter Session. For more information see the UBC Bursary Program.

  4. Academic Year 2012/13 - October

    Pharmaceutical Sciences: Block 2 clerkship begins (October 1 to October 26 inclusive).

    Graduate Studies: Last day for final doctoral oral examination for November graduation.

    Last day for payment of fees for any fee assessments incurred between September 1 and September 30. Students who have not paid their fees will be placed on financial hold; further registration activity will not be permitted, grades will not be released, and graduation diplomas will be withheld. Students will also be assessed a processing fee of $35.00 and interest will be assessed on outstanding balance until it is paid in full (see Fees).

    Term 1 courses and Distance Education Term A courses: Last day for withdrawal from most Winter Session Term 1 courses with withdrawal standing of "W" recorded on a student's academic record. Consult your courses in the Course Schedule for specific information.

    Last day for submission of applications for supplemental and deferred examinations from the 2012 Summer Session.

    Last day for graduation applications to be submitted to the Registrar's Office by all students expecting to graduate in May.

    Graduate Studies: department deadline to submit nominations for University Graduate Fellowships on behalf of incoming students. Students must contact departments for information regarding deadlines for departmental review.

    BC Student Assistance Program (BCSAP): last day for applications and appeals for 2000/01 Winter Session (subject to change).

    Pharmaceutical Sciences, fourth year: clinical clerkship period begins (March 12 to April 6 inclusive).

Students will also be assessed a processing fee of $25.00 and interest will be assessed on outstanding balance until it is paid in full (see Fees section - published in Calendar).

    Graduate Studies: last day for departments to notify the Faculty of Graduate Studies that major papers have been submitted and all requirements met for non-thesis Master's degrees to be awarded in November.
