  1. Academic Year 2002/03 - December

    December examinations begin for most Faculties, day and evening classes (December 3 to December 17 inclusive). Saturdays are included in the exam schedule.

    Dentistry, D.M.D., third and fourth years: last day of program prior to December break.

  2. Academic Year 2014/15 - December

    Graduate Studies: Application for February degree granting and May Congregation opens.

    Graduate Studies: Deadline for guaranteed consideration by the Faculty of Graduate Studies of recommendations from graduate programs for North American students to be admitted for registration in May. Later recommendations may be accepted upon special request from a graduate program.

    Last day for Graduate Students employed as Teaching and Research Assistants to apply for payroll deduction of Winter Session Term 2 (January to April) tuition fees.

    Term 1 (December) examinations begin for most faculties, day and evening classes (December 2 to 17 inclusive). Saturdays are included in the exam schedule.

    Go Global: Round 1 application deadline for Exchange and Research Abroad (Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Technische Universität Darmstadt, and ALL UNIVERSITIES in the US, Iceland and Japan).

    The information that Canadian applicants submit in their Personal Profile when applying to UBC will be used for admissions and for Major Entrance Scholarship consideration. Students wishing to be considered for a Major Entrance Scholarship must submit their online application for admission to UBC by December 10, 2014. This includes paying the admission fee and submitting in-progress or final Grade 11 and Grade 12 marks as requested in the online application.

    Graduate Studies: Last day for final doctoral oral examinations in time for December 31 program end date and February degree granting.

    Graduate Studies: Last day for supervisors to submit Appointment of External Examiner form to Faculty of Graduate Studies for April 30 program end date.

    Teacher Education Program: Term 1B ends / Last day of classes (all options)

    Graduate Studies: Last day for final master's theses and doctoral dissertations to be accepted by the Faculty of Graduate Studies for December 31 program end date. Must be approved and accepted by 4:00 pm. Students who meet this deadline will not be assessed tuition and student fees for 2013/14 Winter Session Term 2.

    Graduate Studies: Last day for graduate programs to notify the Faculty of Graduate Studies that all requirements (including major papers) have been met for non-thesis master's degrees for December 31 program end date. Students who meet this deadline will not be assessed tuition and student fees for 2013/14 Winter Session Term 2.

    International Welcome: International Student Orientation for new international (including US) and exchange students entering Winter Session Term 2.

    Last day for sponsored students to submit applications to have fees billed to a sponsoring organization. Students who do not submit their applications by the deadline will be required to pay the first installment of fees by May 12 to avoid financial hold procedure (see Fees section - published in Calendar).

    Civil Engineering Surveying field school (CIVL 235) begins (May 3 to 15 inclusive).

    Rehabilitation Sciences, second- and third-year Physical Therapy: students begin placement (May 3 to August 13 inclusive).

  11. Academic Year 2016/17 - February

    Last day for payment of fees for any fee assessments incurred between January 1 and January 31. Students who have not paid their fees will be placed on financial hold: further registration activity will not be permitted, grades will not be released, and graduation diplomas will be withheld. Students will also be assessed a processing fee of $35 and interest will be assessed on the outstanding balance until it is paid in full (see Fees).
