Dr. Gail Murphy, Vice-President, Research and Innovation
Units in the Vice-President, Research and Innovation (VPRI) portfolio work with colleagues across the university’s campuses and affiliated health-authority research institutes to provide support and services to the UBC research community throughout the research life cycle. This support includes identifying, securing and managing funding; supporting the ethical and secure conduct of research; developing shared research platforms; celebrating research and scholarly success; and helping researchers and their partners to generate social and economic impacts from their research activities.
The Office of the VPRI also supports institutional priorities through internal funding competitions such as the Grants for Catalyzing Research Clusters, which support interdisciplinary groups to tackle research challenges that transcend traditional disciplinary boundaries, and Collaborative Research Mobility Awards, which support researchers and scholars on the Vancouver and Okanagan campuses to collaborate on research projects.
For more information on VPRI support for researchers, see the Support for Researchers page on the research website.
